Rotary Club of Portsmouth Celebrates Their First Five Years
Tonight we celebrated with our members and Rotary friends 5 years Rotary Club of Portsmouth. We combined this celebration with our traditional Secret Santa.
President Hans recounts our history.
Our President tried to show a video of our 5 years RCP.
We managed to see 50% because the internet froze.
No worries, you will see this in a separate story and you can find this on YouTube: Rotary Portsmouth - Our First 5 Years (https://youtu.be/iiOur48QAJU).
The highlights of our 5 years RCP
including the projects we achieved like:
Emergency Room Portsmouth Hospital
Keep Dominica Clean signs
BBQ in Toucari
Repairs at CALLS
Road signs
Computer Class rooms
and much more.
We were pleased to have Mrs Joseph, Principal of the Dublanc Primary School
as our guest and to be able to give her a great Christmas present:
A computer Class room
for the Dublanc Primary School
Thanks to ROTARY DISTRICT 7030
Disaster funds for Dominica.
Club members, family and friends took part in the Secret Santa gift
exchange.
Let me explain the RCP Secret Santa Rules (as you will not want to miss it next year)
1 You bring a nicely wrapped present which you place under he Christmas tree.
2 You receive your Secret Santa number.
3 We use bingo to decide the order of numbers.
4 When your number is up, you make your choice:
- You take a present under the Christmas tree, unwrap it and place it in front of you
- Or you 'steal' a present from somebody else
5 If you stole a present, the person who you stole it from, goes to the tree (or for more teasing, takes a present from somebody else) as his of her new present.
6 A present can get stolen max. 3 times. The 3rd time the person can keep the present.
As you can see, this is a lot of fun.
On top of all this fun, we had a raffle to support our club with beautiful prizes thanks to:
